Drive more traffic your way with social bookmarking

Well that is what the New York Times is hoping as today they have unveiled social bookmarking links to Digg, Facebook and Newsvine for the first time. Links to social bookmarking sites is nothing new for regular bloggers but this move by the NYT is notable simply because it comes from a ‘traditional’ newspaper.

It makes perfect sense for publishers to experiment with social bookmarking as it has the potential of driving fresh traffic/eye balls to a website. Links to social bookmarking sites is a core feature of our publishing solution and one that we recommend that publishers seriously consider when developing a digital publishing strategy.
